| These video archives, originally broadcast as a 90-minute satellite program, offer informative presentations on Eating Disorders, specifically-
TAPE 1: Anorexia-Bulimia- Binge Eating (approx. 1 hour)
Anorexia Nervosa: Intense fear of becoming "fat" which continues even when the person is dangerously thin. excessive dieting and voluntary starvation.
Bulimia/Bulimarexia: Binge eating large amounts of food in short periods of time. Vomiting and/or laxative abuse. Heavy exercising.
TAPE 2: Coping with Compulsive Overeating (approx. 30 minutes)
Compulsive Overeating/Binge Eating: Giving up the "Diet-Binge Cycle"; Making Peace with Food; Dealing with Body Hatred and Learning Internal-cued eating.
Eating Disorders afflict about 10% of all American women and 20% of college aged young women. Males can also be affected though to a much lesser extent. Eating Disorders can result in death. They are serious medical disorders which should receive prompt medical attention. These programs address the medical, psychiatric and sociocultural aspects of Eating Disorders. National experts specifically discuss compulsive overeating, anorexia and bulimia.
